Enough it is for somebody with such a limited professional life to
lose one or two years

Subject: Gold Cup 2005

* Colombia 0-1 Panama
In Miami, Panama returned to the Gold Cup for the first time in more
than a decade and opened the 2006 Cup with their first ever win in
the tournament. The first half was dominated by the Colombians, but
Panamanian goalkeeper Jamie Penedo kept the ball out of the net
earning him man of the match honors.
Panama took the lead in the 70th minute after Luis Tejeda was able to
head a Julio Medina III cross towards the lower left corner of the
goal. All Colombian goalkeeper Farid Mondragon could do was pick the
ball out of the net as his team went on to lose 1-0 to the Canaleros.

* Trinidad & Tobago 1-1 Honduras
In the second match of Gold Cup 2005, the Soca Warriors from Trinidad
& Tobago clashed with the Catrachos of Honduras at the Orange Bowl.
T&T took the lead in the 27th minute of play after Marvin Andrews
found Christopher Birchall at the top of the box. Birchall then shot
a laser past Honduran keeper Victor Coello. Honduras evened the score
just before the half when Maynor Figueroa buried a free kick in the
43rd minute. Figueroa's goal ended the scoring as the teams went
scoreless in the second half and came away with a point apiece.

Panama beating Colombia?? Wooaw :)

I heard that South Africa will play without all Europe based players,
some Mexico should easily win this one, correct?

Subject: Mendoza to Marseille?

Pape Diouf has announced that an approval had been found between
Marseille and Metalurg Donetsk on the player's transfer.

The OM president has claimed that the Peru international could join the
Canebiere before Friday:"the idea of a loan is not dismissed".

The 27 years old striker has played five seasons at Brugge before
leaving for Ukraine.

He is a good player, but doesn't score enough.

Subject: Litmanen moves to Malmö

Finnish international forward Jari Litmanen has signed a six-month
deal with Swedish champions Malmö FF who also have an option to
extend the 34-year-old's contract by another 12 months.

Free transfer
Last season Litmanen tried to help German side Hansa Rostock avoid
relegation from the Bundesliga and after failing in that quest, he
has been available on a free transfer.

'Footballing reasons'
"I chose Malmö for footballing reasons," Litmanen explained. "I've
played with Swedish players at Ajax and Hansa Rostock, and I really
look forward to playing for Malmö. It's a great club that is going
places and hopefully I can help the club qualify for the Champions
League group stage."

'Great attitude'
Malmö director of sports Hasse Borg is delighted with the signing,
saying: "Litmanen is one of the most experienced players we've ever
signed. He's a very professional guy with a great attitude and he's
not coming here to put an end to his career but to keep it going."

Many clubs
Litmanen has been capped 96 times by Finland, scoring 25 goals. He
has played for many clubs across Europe including Ajax, Livepool and
Barcelona.

Good, finaly a team at his level.
He didn't played superbly since years..

What's up everyone. Anyone here keep up with Club America soccer
team? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Anyway they have some games
coming up and I was wondering if anyone planned on watching this. I
did a search and found this www.mediazone.com/clubamericasoccer .
Turns out if you have a PC and live in U.S. or Canada you can watch it
live on your computer or save it and watch anytime. I'm pretty stoked
about it. Tell me what you think and post back here. The thing starts
Saturday and a schedule is listed at that link above.

That's the Mexican 'America'?
Sorry, I can't get a lot of (South/Central) American football here on
TV. Though, we should get live Copa Libertadores games from next season
on. That's a start. :)
