Subject: The Dennis Rodman show: The latest

Former US National Basketball Association star Dennis Rodman will take part in the 2005 Wife-Carrying World Championships in Finland in July, organisers said. The whimsical annual event resembles a 250-meter (yard) steeplechase in which the "wife" rides upside down on the runner's back with her legs slung over his shoulders for maximum speed. Rodman, aged 44, quit the NBA in 2000 and is known for his escapades. But don't expect Rodman to walk down the aisle just for the event: he will be allowed to borrow a "wife" if he is neither married nor engaged in time for the championships on July 1-2. Women must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 49 kilograms (108 pounds) in order to qualify. "It was Rodman himself who contacted us. He's tried just about everything, but not this," a spokesman for the organising committee, Eero Heinaenen, told Finnish news agency STT. The competition takes place in Sonkajaervi, a small lakeside town located 500 kilometres (310 miles) north of the
Finnish capital Helsinki. The world record is held by Margo Uusorg and Birgit Ulricht of Estonia, who completed the race in 55.5 seconds.
Hes certainly done a lot of things. 1 of them being getting slamdunked into a garbage can by Michael Jordan on Celebrity Deathmatch

I wonder if hes tried suicide.............

Villa might do better next season. Signed a few players across
midfield though ideally there should be one more striker.

Mugged three times in an hour

A German man who was mugged in a night club was mugged again two more
times while waiting for the police.

Reiner Hamer, 27, from Oberhausen, lost his wallet containing £120 and
his mobile phone when three men attacked him in the toilet of his
local night club.

He called police from outside the club using a friend's mobile, but
while he waited for them to arrive he was approached by three other
men, who stole his watch and cigarettes.

As he leaned back against the wall to recover, another five men
approached him and again threatened him, stealing his jacket and the
last of the small change.

Just when he thought leaving London was all he needed to do.

Bit of a fix for bride and best man...

Doctors had to be called to separate the bride and best man after they
were caught in the act during a wedding in Croatia.

The couple were trapped together by a muscle spasm after a friend of
the groom walked in on them as they had sex in the toilets.

Unable to be pulled apart, the couple had to endure a procession of
wedding guests who came to see what they had been doing before doctors
could turn up.

Unable to help, they had to transport the pair on a stretcher to the
local hospital where she was given an injection to relax her muscles,
allowing the best man to get free.

The wedding party in Varazdin, Croatia, continued after the groom
announced the celebrations were to mark his divorce rather than his
wedding, reported daily Slobodna Dalmacija.

Chicken fined for crossing road

A chicken fined for crossing the road has walked free from court in
the US after a judge threw out the charge.

Ophelia, a black Polish hen, earned her owners a £30 fine for
illegally walking across the street in California.

California state law bans livestock from highways but not domestic pets.

But lawyers for Ophelia's owners Linc and Helena Moore successfully
argued that Ophelia was domesticated and could not be charged as
livestock - and the case was dismissed.

The Moores had been fined after their chicken wandered onto a road in
the small rural mining town of Johannesburg in Kern county.

Yes the chicken should be PUNISHED!!!

I remember Tomas Radzinski even scored for Germinal Ekeren in that
final. The following year he went to Anderlecht and finished in
England.

Guests take a dip in beer pool

An Austrian holiday resort is offering guests the chance to swim in a
pool containing 42,000 pints of beer.

The beer-filled swimming pool /Europics

The Starkenber Beer Myth resort located in and around the medieval
castle of Starkenberger in Austria's Tyrol region has filled seven
13ft long pools with the beer.

The management claims that beer baths heal various skin diseases.

However, some guests are said to have enjoyed drinking their favourite
brew while swimming in the pools.

Manager Markus Amann, 23, said: "I would rather swim than swallow, as
we serve enough of a cold, fresh tapped beer on the bars next to the
pools."
