Subject: Another Italian Job For Ahn?

Fresh from being linked with German outfit FC Koln, the Korean press
are speculating that Ahn Jung-hwan could be making a surprise return
to Italy.

According to sources close to the Yokohama F Marinos striker, the 29
year-old is in negotiations with Serie A team Livorno who have
impressed in the top flight since winning promotion last season.

Ahn, currently training with the South Korean national team ahead of
two important World Cup qualifiers, has never made his desire to
return to Europe a secret and with his contract with the Japanese
champions due to expire next month, it could be now or never for the
hero of 2002.

It would be a surprise if the striker did return to Italy as his
unhappy spell with Perugia ended in controversial circumstances after
the Korean had scored the golden goal to send Italy crashing out of
the 2002 World Cup. He was publicly 'sacked' by Perugia's owner
Luciano Gaucci who later claimed that he had been joking.

A decison could be made around the weekend.

Koreans just love Italy!

Subject: Famous first for Železnik

FK Železnik claimed their first-ever trophy, and a place in next
season's UEFA Cup, with a dramatic 1-0 victory against Crvena Zvezda
in the Serbo-Montenegrin Cup final thanks to a last-minute strike
from midfield player Dejan Radjenovic.

Missed chances
Despite the absence of five players through injury and suspension,
Ratko Dostanic's Crvena Zvezda still created enough opportunities to
win the game. Milan Dudic missed an early header while Ardijan Djokaj
and Vladimir Mudrinic both failed to convert chances either side of
half-time.

Djuraskovic dismissed
Borislav Mikic created Železnik's first opening just past the hour
but Zoran Djuraskovic could not find the target from six metres.
Djuraskovic's evening turned from bad to worse 12 minutes from time
as he was sent off for dissent, and Crvena Zvezda almost made the
extra man count six minutes later but Radovan Krivokapic was unable
to break the deadlock.

Radjenovic delight
Just as it seemed the match would end scoreless, however, Železnik
snatched victory in the 90th minute. Crvena Zvezda left-back
Aleksandar Lukovic fouled Aleksandar Pantic and, from the resulting
free-kick, Borislav Mikic picked out Radjenovic, whose close-range
header gave goalkeeper Ivan Randjelovic no chance.

Djoincevic delight
"We deserved this," said Železnik coach Cedomir Djoincevic. "We
believed in ourselves, controlled the situation and played on the
counterattack. In football, sometimes you can see only one goal, in
the 90th minute. We were the better team today, and I congratulate my
players."

Last finals:
1998/99 Crvena zvezda Beograd 4-2 Partizan Beograd
1999/00 Crvena zvezda Beograd 4-0 Napredak Krusevac
2000/01 Partizan Beograd 1-0 Crvena zvezda Beograd
2001/02 Crvena zvezda Beograd 1-0 Sartid Smederovo
2002/03 Sartid Smederovo 1-0 Crvena zvzeda Beograd
2003/04 Crvena zvezda Beograd 1-0 Buducnost Banatski Dvor
2004/05 FK Železnik 1-0 Crvena zvezda Beograd

Number of Wins:
20 [11] Crvena zvezda Beograd
09 [07] Partizan Beograd
09 [05] Hajduk Split
07 [08] Dinamo Zagreb

*********************************

That's a pleasant surprise!
Go Partizan :p

yeah gullit is a nice guy, but like hoddle, i think they were great
players but poor managers. none of them is any good at man
management.......probably because they think they are it and the
players will just obey, when it just aint the case!

The computer-generated ranking of Europe's top football clubs, is
based on each club's performance over its past 50 games. Numerous
criteria are used, including a special weighting to reflect current
form.
Each team's rating is expressed as a percentage of the top-ranked
team. In principle, it includes all domestic and European games
played up to and including Sunday 22nd May 2005. Newly promoted teams
will be given a provisional rating after 25 games.

SK Teuta won their third Albanian Cup following a 6-5 penalty shoot-
out victory against league champions KF Tirana.

Kapllani heroics
With no score after both 90 and 120 minutes, and neither team
creating clear-cut chances, Teuta's leading marksman Daniel Xhafaj
hit the post with his penalty, leaving veteran goalkeeper Xhevahir
Kapllani to take the plaudits with saves from Tirana's Fjodor Xhafa
and Gentian Hajdari.

Teuta trophy
This was the fourth time Tirana and Teuta had contested the final and
now both have two wins apiece. The victory also marked a first trophy
for Teuta coach Stavri Nica.

Subject: Sarajevo celebrate Cup glory

FK Sarajevo have retained the Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup after a 1-1
second-leg draw at home against NK Široki Brijeg gave Husref
Musemic's team a 2-1 final success overall.

Obuca goals
Emir Obuca's early goal in the first leg gave Sarajevo victory at
Široki Brijeg and the edge ahead of tonight's decisive second
encounter. Both sides had chances in the first period, but it was
Sarajevo who strengthened their grip on the tie three minutes before
half-time as Obuca doubled their aggregate lead.

Juricic on target
Obuca and defender Muhamed Dzakmic had chances to end the tie early
in the second period, but both shot wide when well placed. Those
misses looked like they may prove costly six minutes past the hour as
substitute Nikola Juricic brought Široki Brijeg level on the night,
before the same player missed an opportunity to give his team the
lead eight minutes later.

Red cards
The visitors had more chances in the closing stages, with Sarajevo
losing forward Alen Avdic to a red card eight minutes from time
before two players from each team were sent off in added time as
tempers boiled over. The eight men of Sarajevo held firm, however, to
win the cup for the fourth time and with it a place in next season's
UEFA Cup.

'Deserved' win
Musemic said: "My forecast that the match would be very difficult
came true. After taking the lead we allowed them to become more
dominant. But looking at the whole season and the two-legged final, I
think we deserved to lift the cup."

Last finals:
2000/01 Kozara Gradiska 3-0 Boksit Milici
2001/02 Leotar Trebinje 2-1 Kozara Gradiska
2002/03 Jedinstvo Brcko 1-0 Modrica Maxima
2003/04 Leotar Trebinje 0-0 Modrica Maxima [6-5 pen]
2004/05 FK Sarajevo 1-0 1-1 NK Široki Brijeg

Winners:
3 Kozara Gradiska
2 Borac Banja Luka, Leotar Trebinje, Rudar Ugljevik
1 Jedinstvo Brcko, Sloga Trn, FK Sarajevo

Subject: Brøndby bag Danish Cup glory

A goal from substitute Ruben Bagger 21 minutes into extra time
enabled Brøndby IF to defeat FC Midtjylland 3-2 in the Danish Cup
final in Copenhagen.

Skoubo strike
Despite dominating the early stages at the Parken stadium, Brøndby
survived a scare in the 35th minute when Midtjylland striker David
Nielsen hit the post. However, six minutes later they were in front
as Morten Skoubo slotted in Mads Jørgensen's fine pass.

Brøndby shocked
That lead was wiped out 30 seconds in the second half, Midtjylland
midfield player Michael Hansen sending a fine shot into the Brøndby
net from a tight angle. Then, on 59 minutes, the underdogs took the
lead through Ghana striker Ratzak Pimpong's header.

Pimpong off
Inside seven minutes, however, Pimpong was dismissed and Brøndby took
advantage to equalise in the 75th minute, Kim Daugaard taking the tie
into extra time. Just as penalties loomed, Bagger stepped up to
convert Johan Elmander's header and seal a place in next season's
UEFA Cup.

Last finals:
2003 Brøndby IF 3-0 FC Midtjylland
2004 FC København 1-0 AaB
2005 Brøndby IF 3-2 FC Midtjylland

Winners:

3 [2] Lyngby FC
3 [2] FC København
3 [0] Randers Freja

Subject: Leitan leads Levadia triumph

FC Levadia Tallinn regained the Estonian Cup after a last-gasp header
from Vitali Leitan finally broke ten-man FC TVMK Tallinn's stubborn
resistance to earn a slender one-goal win at the Kadriorg stadium.

Skiperski dismissed
The same two sides lined up in last year's final when Levadia eased
to a 3-0 win and a similar result looked like it could be in the
offing tonight when Konstantin Nahk's 25-metre shot came back off the
crossbar after just nine minutes. But TVMK fought back well, and were
still on level terms when defender Dmitri Skiperski was shown a
second yellow in the 64th minute.

Late drama
But unperturbed, TVMK began to force the game and on 85 minutes
Andrei Borissov's long-range effort whistled just over the crossbar.
Meanwhile, Levadia were relying on the counterattack and it was from
one such flowing move that Leitan grabbed the late winner, meeting
Konstantin Vassiljev's pinpoint cross to settle the final in the 88th
minute.

Records
The goal ensured a record third Estonian Cup triumph for Levadia, and
a fifth for Nahk (a record he shares with Andrei Krõlov). Levadia
will hope for further success when they compete in Champions League
qualifying this summer.

Last finals:
2002 FC Levadia Tallinn 2-0 FC Levadia Maardu
2003 TVMK Tallinn 2-2 FC Flora Tallinn [aet, 4-1 pen]
2004 FC Levadia Tallinn 3-0 TVMK Tallinn
2005 FC Levadia Tallinn 1-0 TVMK Tallinn

Number of Wins

2 [2] FC Flora Tallinn
2 [1] FC Levadia Maardu
2 [1] Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi
2 [0] Sadam Tallinn

No surprises in Estonia neither.

Subject: Presilski double delights Baskimi

FK Baskimi have won the Macedonian Cup for the first time after a
dramatic late comeback, capped by Bruno Presilski's strike deep into
added time, earned a 2-1 success against FK Madzari Solidarnost 92.

Early breakthrough
Both finalists were bidding to claim the trophy for the first time,
and it was Madzari who took the early initiative as Saso Aleksovski
collected a long ball from Dejan Georgievski and capitalised on some
hesitancy in the Baskimi defence to open the scoring from five metres
out.

Georgievski off
Baskimi saw more of the ball but only mustered their first shot on
goal in the 57th minute, an effort from Brazilian Sousa Da Silva
forcing a save from Madzari goalkeeper Stojan Dimovski. Four minutes
later, the tie turned Baskimi's way as Georgievski was dismissed for
a second yellow card.

Presilski delight
Blagoja Gjurcevski's header then came back of the post as Madzari
came under increasing pressure, and Baskimi duly drew level 13
minutes from time with Presilski equalising with a spectacular effort
from 35 metres out. The goal breathed new life into Baskimi's
challenge, and the cup was clinched four minutes into added time as
Presilski scored his second to give Baskimi a memorable win.
